So the adventure continues... We left the Chicken farm and headed into Canberra to visit two of Leonie's brothers and one of Leonie's long time friends, Jessica. Below is one of the sunsets that we captured at Warri Rest area, a place we camped for a while while we worked on the farm.
Coming into Canberra it was so strange to see so many cars in a built up area (as we were so used to farm life and camping, and hardly anyone around...lol!)
These two are funny pics. Driving through Canberra on the first day, we noticed 3 wedding cars. BUT upon closer inspection, we realised they weren't your normal selection of limousines or old vintage cars...they were Torana SLR5000's.
What the?
Below catching up with Leonie's brothers Greg & Anthony, & Anthony's lovely girlfriend Karen, for a big dinner and a few drinks. It was so good to touch base with family and to use clean and warm showers! Thanks guys xxx
Below is Leonie and the beautiful Jessica. We have been meaning to catch up with Jess for a few years now, and finally we get the opportunity to share some quality time! YAY!!
We were so lucky when Jess and her partner Callum invited us over to their place for a home cooked Spanish meal followed by dessert, Hummingbird Cake, oh yeah!!!
THIS WAS OUR FIRST HOME COOKED MEAL ON THE ROAD SINCE WE LEFT SYDNEY! We appreciated it so so much...
We loved dessert so much...Jess made us our very own Hummingbird Cake! And even specially delivered it to our caravan park the next day.
Thanks Jess! We Love You!!
The Hummingbird cake!!! Oh it was so yummy!
(here is Dom's hands getting stuck in...hehehe)
That was our last night in Canberra, we loved it there!
We really enjoyed ourselves on the streets of Canberra, all of their shops and cafes, and at The Old Depot Markets, which was filled with so much creative talent and lots of things we would love to fill our house with one day... But for now we are heading to the coast for some beach time...
