The big decision!!!
We had a chance to go to Wollongong for Dom to do his Forklift Licence. The idea was that we'd stay with Dom's friend Dianne there for three days, he does the course and gets accredited, we ring the cotton picking companies of Northern NSW, and tell them.....
HOPING that this would get us off the waitlist for work with them, and get us working straight away. That was the plan....
On our drive back up the coast on the way back to Wollongong, as we passed through Nowra and into Berry, both of us experienced a nervous anxiety. An anxiety that felt terrible. We thought about how close we would be to home once we arrived in Wollongong (home being Sydney) and felt terrible about it.
This is how we knew that we were doing the wrong thing for our souls!
It was at that moment, when we stopped in Berry for a few doughnuts and a coffee, that we both really realised 'what the hell were we doing"? There was no guarantee of work at the cotton fields and we would be blowing all our precious funds staying in Wollongong for the whole time.
We said to each other right there and then "That's it! Let's get the fuck out of NSW! We've been here for 4 months and it's time we followed our original plan and went down south into Victoria".
Once we made that decision, we both felt so so comfortable about everything. We travelled down south without a heavy heart and with a renewed spring in our step. AND making that decision actually allowed us both to have some beautiful experiences in some of NSW's most beautiful spots along the way down South.
So we turned around....gave Sydney the finger (don't take it personal peeps we still love you all) and drove off into the sunset (once again). It actually felt like this was the start of our trip and what we should have done back in Jan). So it was the both of us and the trusty AUM mobile, serenaded all the way down the coast by David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, and Angus & Julia Stone.
Bodalla Cheese factory, where you can see all the workings of the cheese making, and the little ones can help milk calves twice a day.
Bega. The drive in was beautiful with rolling grassy countryside, but as a place itself it was a bit disappointing really. They're claim to fame is the Bega Cheese Factory....but to be honest we really didn't like the heavy energy of the town (admittedly it was a Sunday and everyone could have had a big one the night before), so we just stopped for some lunch and moved straight on.
This place (Narooma), we arrived at late (around 4pm) and it was paradise. The weather was starting to turn and get a bit chilly too, but it's what every lovely little fishing town should be, with a lovely port, and man made breakwalls to lead boats out to sea (as you can see below).
Breakwall...you can drive right up to the start of it, and then walk the rest of the way, all the way to the end. Would be quite scary on a swelling day, but on a clear calm day, must be a beautiful spot for photos and fishing.
Below you can just make out people at the end of the breakwall. They are all looking at something on the rocks. What is it? We'll find out soon :)
Leonie very excited about taking sunset photos over the ocean.

May-September is the time to see whales on their long migration down South.
HOLY SHIT! WHAT IS IT THAT EVERYONE IS LOOKING AT? MY GOD!!! THEY ARE SEALS!!!!
These little guys (actually some really big guys) were close to the wall and showing off and posing for us with upside down manoeuvres, belly rolls, heads coming out....and general playing about. We couldn't believe it!!!!
Below...performing the 'Jaws' part 1.
